Introduction

Casella USA is the trading name of Casella CEL Inc. and is the sales office for Casella CEL Ltd based in Bedford, in the United Kingdom. Casella CEL Ltd designs and manufactures a wide range of measurement instruments and systems that are sold under the Casella and CEL brand names around the world.

Casella USA covers sales and after sales support for customers in North America including the United Sates of America, Canada and Mexico. The office is responsible for all pre sales activities including providing pricing quotations, delivery information and technical information to allow our customers to make an informed judgment on which particular model best satisfies their application. After the sale has been made the office is also able to support the user in the most appropriate use of the instrument to get the best value out of their initial purchase.

After sales support, recertification, warranty

After sales support consists of a number of separate but inter related items. We are pleased to be able to offer expert technical advice to help users setup and get the most out of their instruments. This can be as simple as answering basic usage questions to more thorough technical aspects about the mode of operation of a particular piece of equipment that will assist a user to understand the way that it performs its main functions. We maintain a toll free number accessible from throughout North America to ask for help or customers may request help from our email contact point or through the main web site.

Part of the after sales support is the provision of operator manuals written in a clear and concise style that allow the novice user and the more experienced customer to make the best use of the item. Traditionally, operator manuals have been provided as printed handbooks but this is becoming gradually replaced by electronic versions of the manuals supplied on cdroms that may also contain the associated computer software when available. Electronic manuals allow us to keep the information up to date more efficiently since they can be updated more often and can be sent electronically by emails when needed urgently by a user.

Part of the support is the maintenance of a traceable recalibration laboratory that is suitably equipped to carry out manufacturer’s recertification of many of the instruments that the company sells. These include, but are not limited to, personal noise dosimeters, sound level meters, acoustic calibrators, personal air sampling pumps, heat stress monitors, real time particulate monitors and other items too. Recalibration is usually recommended at annual intervals to maintain compliance with the relevant regulations.

The company also is able to offer extended product warranties for the instruments that it manufactures and sells. For many suppliers this is provided for 12 months after the initial sale but in the case of the Casella and CEL instruments sold by Casella USA or its authorized distributors we are pleased to provide a full 24 month parts and labor warranty for all the main instruments that we manufacture. The associated non Casella/CEL instruments and accessories manufactured by other suppliers and sold as part of a complete system may be covered by alternative warranties as specified by their provider in the market place. If, during normal usage, an item of our design and manufacture is found to be faulty it should be returned, carriage paid, to our main office in Amherst, NH where it will be inspected and either repaired or replaced at our discretion free of charge to the customer. We reserve the right to decide upon the decision to repair or replace but in any case we will not be able to extend this 24 month warranty for items that have been subject to misuse or abuse by the user. These situations can include amongst other things, leaky batteries, damaged diaphragms on microphones, liquids getting into air sampling pumps or damage due to being dropped or mishandled. The extended 24 month warranty applies to all Casella or CEL instruments sold from January 1st 2008.
